Hey guys! So first off let me apologize for not writing in like an eternity! Okay so my last post was about my newest song (which BTW i might get to sing on Sunday! TEXT ME UNCLE C!) and i realized i never told you guys about my first song! so here we go:
Concept: Basically the song is about not worrying about what anybody else thinks about you because in the end their opinion of you doesn't matter. God's opinion is the only one that matters. My favorite line in this song is "Don't let the world tell you who you are." Because i feel like we do that A LOT. And the bible says to not be conformed to the patterns of this world. (C28 Baby! They don't have one here :( ) So yeah.
Story: Okay so I went camping with my dad a few weeks before my mom's birthday. And since i knew we were going to PC (PC=Panama City. P-Cola= Pensacola ;) ) for her birthday, I came up with this brilliant scheme. Since my favoritest uncle in the world is the pastor of my mom's old church ( the church we always go to when we visit) i decided to ask him if i could sing a super-secrete birthday song for my mom the Sunday after her birthday. And so we had a brief convo about it and so we agreed that that was what was going to happen. While showering one night ("I always think better when i'm wet" -Spencer Shay -iCarly call me nerdy ;) ) I came up with the chorus for my song. When i texted my uncle, I had a chorus but i just couldn't get anything else. So when we left for PC i had a chorus and an idea for a verse tune (which i changed completely). It was Saturday; Mom's birthday. I was supposed to preform this song the next day. And had i prepared? no. I hadn't even finished writing it!!! It was that same night when i posted my blog post entitled "My life Sucks." or something like that. So we're at my cousins house (the crazy wild madhouse where you can't even get peace and quiet in the bathroom!) and it's like midnight. I'm in my cousins' room and i'm trying to write but i can't get anything! I had to preform this song in less than 9 hours! At this point I'm like completely freaking out! So i just give up for the moment, my mind too stressed to think. Then my mom comes in and tells me it's time to leave. YIKES!!!!!! So we drive back to my grandparent's house (AKA Mema and Papa) she goes to bed and i pretend to rest but only for like 5 minutes knowing i CANNOT sleep until this song is written. I take a deep breathe and start to pray. I open my computer and just start writing. To this day i do not know where those words came from. But if i had a guess i would say they came from someone whose always got my back ;). 5 minutes later i had written this amazingly awesomely incredibly EPIC song!!! it was awesome! After i wrote it? I saved (MULTIPLE times :D ) turned on some tunes, and went to sleep. The next morning was chaotic. Rehearsing the song in my head i'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off, trying to get the song to print. Finally we got it to print and just in time too! So i get to the church and my uncle hooks me up with the little head set mic things. Which since i'm used to singing into a mic on a stand, was a little weird. I told him it really wasn't working so he brought out a mic and a stand. Which made me feel like i was perfectly in my element. So not only did God write this amazing song, but the tune that was in my head fit perfectly with the chords i use for all of my songs. It was amazing!!!! I rehearsed for a while, made some people cry, and then church was about to start. I sat on the end row which was weird, but it would've been even weirder to climb over my mom's lap to get out. Especially since she had no idea what was going on! So i get my cue (I was a little slow but hey i made it) and go up to the stage and do my thing. It was amazing! I loved the experience and i feel like i made an impact on a lot of peoples lives. So that's the story of how the song "The Way You Are" came to be.
In other news: lol I've always wanted to say that ;). I got Google chrome which is epic!!! I can play Angry birds anytime i want to haha! It's pretty awesome (SPELL CHECK!) :) So yup that's pretty much it! Well i am exhausted so i'm going to go to sleep now! Love you guys! Night!
